October has arrived, and we’re celebrating Halloween!

Join in the Halloween spirit and enjoy fun-filled family festivals, entertainment, and activities in Sonoma and Napa County.   Bats, pumpkins, spiders, and other spooky items are decorated all over wine country.   

The events below are all family friendly and not to spooky for the younger children.  Don’t forget to wear your costume!  Enjoy displays of pumpkins, face painting, cake walks, cookie decorating, and much more! 

Pumpkin Nights: October 10th- November 3rd 

5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, daily

At Pumpkin Nights you will venture through seven pumpkin themed lands on a quest to preserve the spirit of Halloween.  The lands were built using 3,000 carved real and artificial l pumpkins. The different lands include: Forbidden Pumpkin City, Great Pumpkin Hall, Pumpkin Pirate Cove, Pumpkin Reef, Maravilla Lane, Enchanted Pumpkin Forest, and Monster Mash.  The trail is half a mile long and you can venture through as many times as you would like.

The pumpkin themed trail is not the only entertainment.  You will find food and beverages, photo- ops, The Spirit of Pumpkins fire show, watch live carving of pumpkins by professional artists, and more. 

This is a family friendly event for all ages.  You will not find gore or anything to make you jump and scare.  The spooky elements are some fog machines and giant pumpkin spiders and skeletons  hanging around. 

Purchase tickets online, only a limited number are sold at the door. 

Tolay Fall Festival: October 12-13th & October 19th-20th

The Tolay Fall Festival is a seasonal celebration of the beauty and history of the Tolay Lake Regional Park.  The activities are hands on and educational for families.  

Some of the fun activities include a hayride through a pumpkin patch, pet barnyard animals, find your way through a straw maze, sample food and desserts, and much more.  You can enter a world record pumpkin seed spitting contest or compete in gunny sack races. Or for some creepy fun explore the Nighttime Creatures Barn, which has native and exotic snakes and birds of prey.  Or find your way to the Creepy Crawly room which has tarantulas and scorpions under black lights. 

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger.  Free for Regional Park Members!  Parking is $7

Family Fall Fest at the Village: October 26th

 Celebrate Fall with family fun at the Village at the Vista Collina Resort.  Family can partake in carnival games, face painting, cookie decorating, Halloween crafts, and more while you enjoy live music and food from food trucks.   Costumes are encouraged. 

Free Admission, with tickets available on-site to enjoy carnival games and other activities. Food and beverage is also available for purchase.

14th Annual Harvest Festival: October 27th

Join in the fun at the Francis Coppola Winery for a day of costumes and games!  Enjoy games, chalk art in the Pavilion, gift bags, dancing, music, and the Pumpkin Fairy Godmother! Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Pool Café.

Safari West Halloween Spook-tacular: October 27th

Visit the Trek-and-Treat at the Safari West Halloween Spook-tacular!  Come in costume and you will receive a goodie bag while you visit the Conservation Pumpkin Patch!  This year Safari West is partnering with organizations like Wild Care, the East Bay Vivarium, and NorCal Bats.  To add their own unique animals to the seasonal sites.  On the serengeti bus trek, you will meet antelope, rhinos, amazing Watusi longhorns and giraffes! Select a departure time and reserve a seat!

Pumpkins will be available for purchase at the pumpkin patch or you can donate one to one of the animals at Safari West.  Pumpkins make great items for the animals to either play with, eat, or smash.  The money for the pumpkins will be donated to the Vulture Conservation Foundation, who work to protect some of the world’s most amazing and least appreciated birds.

The fun begins at 10 AM with Safari Treks departing every hour till 2 PM!
Adults $50 and Children 4-12 years old are $25.

  • Serengeti Bus Trek, depature times are 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm.

Harvest Festival at Connolly Ranch: October 27th

The Connolly Ranch’s Annual Harvest Festival is fun for the whole family.  Arrive in costume, meet the farm animals, explore the gardens, participate in the activities, or have lunch in the grove while enjoying live music.  Activities include: cake walk, face painiting, wool spinning, bracelet making, spider rock painting, pumpkin painting, haunted greenhouse, scarecrow making, apple pressing, and spooky story-time.
