Maria Jose S.

My name is Maria. I am studying preservation and conservation of the natural resources in a virtual postgraduate and  I work with kids at the same time to make a living.

This vocation started when my brother was born. He is 10 years younger than me and I practically raised him because my parents worked all day so I took care of him when he was just a baby.  Once I graduated from University in 2018, I got my first job at Francisco Jose de Caldas school where I was a teacher in 1st to 5th grades.

Then I applied as an Au Pair in 2021, taking care of a child of 4 months old. I also recently worked at non profit camp for children without money support in Michigan when I had the most beautiful experience with children between 7 to 17 years old.  We had fun together in activities like fishing, kayaking, archery, tubing, and more.

Usually, when a child is challenging me, I would apply special strategies to redirect the tantrum into healthy activities. I love being a nanny because I have learned a lot from interacting with them and teaching them how to develop strong mental, social and physical skills and abilities.

I love having fun in outdoors activities. My hobbies include basketball, hiking, working out, reading, kayaking, and camping.  Also, I really enjoy my time admiring landscapes and nature.
