Paris R.

Hi my name is Paris Routt. Born and raised in the Bay Area. I moved to Vallejo about 3 years ago and so far I’ve been loving it! Growing up I’ve always had a love for children. I was the family baby sitter, whenever my cousins, aunts or uncles needed childcare I was their first call and always available. I’ve been in this field going on 6 years now. I began driving school buses and the moments my students and I would have during transit to and from school made me realize I wanted to be more involved with children full time. From there I became a preschool teacher. I took courses at Contra Costa College to obtain my ECE units & I truly enjoy every moment of it from learning deeper about child development to implementing what I’ve learned in my daily practices as a teacher.

I currently work as a 3’s teacher at the New School Of Berkeley. I’ve been with the school going on 2 years now. At the start of my employment I worked in the 2 year old classroom. Over the course of my years in this field I’ve gained experience working with all age groups from infant-grade school, doing ABA therapy, and nannying for a few of my school families during vacations/date nights. Each experience with every age group has been so special. Being there to teach them new skills and to watch them learn, grow and develop means the world to me.

In my free time I love to workout, dance, cook and  spend time with family. I’m also a licensed cosmetologist I love to create and make people look and feel beautiful. I operate my business on the weekends and after work during the weekdays.

I’m very patient and enjoy being outdoors going on walks or to the park. I’m pretty fluent in sign language and I love to introduce ASL to my students. Most days will be filled with arts and crafts, cooking, reading, music/dance parties, nature walks and more.
